Baked Beans on Garlic toast

Baked Beans on Garlic Toast is the perfect appetizer or snack that will be devoured in any party.

Ingredients
  

For Baked Beans Mixture:

  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 12 oz Baked beans using canned ones
  • ¼ cup onions finely chopped
  • ¼ cup green bell pepper finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Dorot Garden ginger or ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon Dorot Garden garlic or garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon Dorot Garden cilantro or 2 tablespoon finely chopped cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon tomato ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon chilli sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For Garlic Toast:

  • 5 bread slices using honey oats bread
  • 2 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic
  • ¼ teaspoon dry parsley flakes
  • salt and pepper to taste

For Garnishing:

  • shredded Parmesan cheese
  • red onions and green bell peppers thinly sliced
  • red pepper flakes to taste optional
  • some coriander leaves

Instructions
 

For Baked Beans Mixture:

  • In a pan on medium heat add the oil and butter and let the butter melt.
  • Add the onions and saute until translucent.
  • Next add the bell pepper and saute for another min and add the ginger garlic and cilantro cubes. Saute until the cubes melt and raw garlic smell disappears.
  • Then add the baked beans,salt, pepper, tomato ketchup and chilli sauce and mix well.
  • Cook on medium low stirring intermittently until the mixture thickens.
  • Keep aside.

For Garlic Toast:

  • Toast the bread slices until the slices are lightly brown and crispy.
  • In a microwave safe bowl, add the butter and heat it for 30 secs or until it melts.
  • Add garlic, salt, pepper, parsley flakes and mix well.

To Assemble:

  • Divide the garlic butter into 5 equal portions and apply this over the toasted bread.
  • Spread the baked bean mixture evenly over this garlic bread.
  • Sprinkle Parmigiano Reggiano and cut each slices into 4 squares or triangles.
  • Garnish with thinly sliced onions, bell pepper strips and coriander leaves.
  • Sprinkle red chilli flakes to taste. (optional and to taste)
  • You can warm it in the oven for 10 mins if needed or serve as is.

Notes

  • Instead of bread you can even use some crackers or other base of choice.
  • The bread can get soggy so assemble just before serving. 
  • Top it with egg for that complete breakfast
