Instructions
Chill serving glasses in the freezer for at least 10 minutes.
Add all the ingredients into the blender, starting with vanilla ice cream, then the Nutella (hazelnut spread), and milk. Blend (about 20-30 seconds) until everything is well combined and frothy.
Pour creamy Nutella Milkshake into chilled glasses. Add a dollop of ice cream and drizzle some Nutella on top. Enjoy!!
Notes
For a thicker milkshake: Use chilled milk and full-fat ice cream for richness. Avoid ice cubes if possible as they will water down the flavor. Prevent Nutella from clumping or sticking to the blender:Add the Nutella on top of the ice cream, not first. Placing it at the bottom causes it to stick under the blender blades and makes blending uneven. Also, using a high-powered blender makes it easier to smoothly combine Nutella without leaving stubborn blobs behind. For a healthy Nutella Milkshake: Skip the ice cream and use frozen bananas instead. Although that definitely changes the taste and as per my kids that no longer is a milkshake but more of Nutella banana milkshake or smoothie.Adjust sweetness to taste: This milkshake is already sweet due to the sugars in nutella and ice cream but if you prefer it sweet add sugar (to taste) while blending.Don’t Over-Blend: Too much blending can turn your milkshake thin and foamy instead of thick and creamy. Blend just until combined, 20 to 30 secondsFreeze Your Serving Glasses : Chill your serving glasses in the freezer for 10-15 minutes before pouring the milkshake. It keeps the shake colder longer and prevents melting on contact.Milk choices: I prefer whole milk but 2%, skim milk or even almond milk can be used.Vegan Version: Use dairy-free Nutella, plant-based ice cream, and almond or oat milk.
