Broccoli, Mushroom & Bell Peppers in Chilli Garlic Sauce is a Indo-Chinese gravy dish that can be served with Rice/noodles. My hubby & me both love Indo-Chinese food so much that we eat it almost every week. But my taste-buds are super-spoilt so I can easily  get bored eating the same noodles/gravy dish every week. That drives me to try something new every time. One such weekend I thought why not try some gravy dish that can go with white rice. I had these three veggies Broccoli, Mushroom & Bell Pepper  available so started with them. The final dish turned out so good that I had to share it with you all. I named the sauce Chilli Garlic as I could feel the distinct flavor of garlic & chilli while relishing this gravy.

I had Broccoli, Mushroom & Bell Peppers readily available so added these to the gravy but you could try this gravy with any veggie of your choice. Also feel free to adjust the spice level of this gravy to your suit your taste buds.

Now to the recipe...

Ingredients:

1 small broccoli head
2 cups of mushroom
½ green bell pepper (capsicum)
½ red bell pepper (capsicum)
1 tablespoon of finely chopped garlic
1 tablespoon of finely chopped ginger
2-3 tablespoon of finely chopped spring onions
2-3 tablespoon of finely chopped spring onions green
2 tablespoon of soya sauce
2 tablespoon of red chilli sauce
1 tablespoon of hot Chilli sauce
2 tablespoon of tomato ketchup
2 tablespoon of vinegar
1 tablespoon of cornflour
salt & pepper to taste
1-2 tablespoon of oil

Method:

Cut the veggies in equal size pieces. In a pan heat few drops of oil, add mushrooms & season them with salt & pepper. Saute on medium to high flame till cooked. Remove on to a plate & keep aside. Similarly saute the Bell peppers & broccoli by seasoning them with salt & pepper. Keep these aside. Try to retain the crunchiness of Bell peppers & broccoli.

In the same pan, heat 1 tablespoon of oil & once hot add ginger garlic & saute till raw garlic smell disappears  Then add the spring onions & saute till translucent. Now add all the sauces like soya sauce, red chilli sauce, hot chilli sauce, ketchup & vinegar.

Cook till this mixture thickens. Now add 1-2 cups of water & simmer for 5 mins on medium to high flame. Season with salt & pepper to taste.  Remember we added salt to the veggies & sauces too have some salt content in them so add salt carefully.

Now add the sauteed veggies & mix.  Simmer for 2 mins. Mix 1 tablespoon of cornflour in 1 cup of water. Mix well till combined. Then add 1 tablespoon of cornflour mixture at a time & keep stirring till then gravy thickens to a consistency of your choice. I required almost ¾ cup to get my choice gravy thickness. Garnish with spring onions green.

That's it, our Broccoli, Mushroom & Bell Peppers in Chilli Garlic Sauce is ready, Serve it hot with some steaming rice/noodles.

Happy Cooking!!
