This Tropical Smoothie is a summery and refreshing blend of mango, pineapple, kiwi, strawberry, banana, orange juice and coconut water. Quick, easy and healthy recipe that is great for breakfast, snack or even as dessert!!

My first attempt at making this tropical smoothie was with an intention to finish little bits of fruits that were leftover. The blend of mix fruits with milk tasted good but I wanted something light and yet satiating.
After few trials, I finally found the perfect combination!! Fruits like mango, pineapple, kiwi strawberry and banana with orange juice, tad bit of yogurt and coconut water. One sip and it reminded me of Hawaii!!

Ingredients
- Fruits: Mango, kiwi, banana, pineapple, strawberries.
- Coconut water: The coconut water makes this smoothie really light and refreshing and the hint of coconut flavor is delicious!
- Orange juice: If you can, use freshly squeezed orange juice, or use a pure juice with no added sugar.
- Yogurt: I like to add Greek yogurt for some added protein an probiotics.
- Ice cubes: To make the drink icy cold.
- Sweetener: The sweetener is optional and you can use sugar, honey or agave.
You can replace coconut water with milk/coconut milk if you like. You can also customize it like by adding oats to make it more filling. Or, give it a boost of omega 3 by adding chia seeds and flax seeds.
Step by Step Instructions
1 to 4 - In a blender add the chopped fruits - Kiwi, mango, pineapple, strawberry and banana.
5 & 6 - Add the yogurt, orange juice, coconut water.
7 & 8 - Blend until smooth. Pour in a glass and serve immediately.
Recipe Notes and Tips
- I prefer using ripe banana as that gives me enough sweetness to skip adding sugar/honey.
- You can replace coconut water with coconut milk or regular milk too (skip orange juice).
- Other tropical fruits like papaya can also be added to this smoothie.
- I've skipped adding sugar to this smoothie as the sweetness from mangoes and banana was perfect for me. You can add sweetener of choice like sugar or honey if required.
- This recipe makes enough for 1 large smoothie or two smaller ones. The recipe is easily halved and doubled.
- Add a pinch of salt, it helps bring out the sweetness.
Make It Your Own
As I always say, there are no exact amount required for smoothie. Adjust the fruits and liquid to your taste and liking. If you prefer more of one fruit than other, thick vs thin, sweet or without sugar.
